Malverne Winter Guard Makes History with Double Medal Finish at Championships
Malverne School District is proud to announce the historic success of its Winter Guard program at the Musical Arts Conference Championships. On March 28, student-athletes from both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams traveled to Monroe, Connecticut, to compete against the region’s top performers, ultimately securing two podium finishes for the district.
The day’s achievements began with the Howard T. Herber Middle School Junior Varsity team, which made its championship debut in its inaugural season. Comprised entirely of new members, the JV squad delivered a poised and skillful performance, earning third place. This bronze medal finish serves as a testament to the rapid development and commitment shown by these students throughout their first year of competition.
The momentum continued into the evening as the Malverne High School Varsity team took the floor. Following a championship victory in the AA division last year, the team was elevated to the more rigorous Scholastic A Class for the 2025-2026 season. Demonstrating exceptional precision and artistry, the Varsity performers earned first place, officially being crowned MAC Scholastic A Champions.
It was especially meaningful to have so many Malverne families in the stands to cheer and witness this historic moment. While we celebrate this incredible accomplishment, we also recognize the contributions of our seven graduating seniors whose leadership has been vital to the program's success.
The district commends the students and coaches for their dedication to the performing arts and for representing the Malverne community with excellence on a regional stage. Congratulations to all of our talented performers on a truly successful and gratifying season!
