Lorraine Akou Selected as 2026 National Honor Society Scholarship Semifinalist

Malverne School District congratulates high school senior Lorraine Akou on being named a 2026 National Honor Society Scholarship semifinalist.
Selected from among thousands of applicants nationwide and from NHS chapters overseas, Lorraine earned this prestigious recognition for her outstanding scholarship, leadership, service and character.
“Beyond her remarkable academic achievements, Lorraine embodies the values of the National Honor Society by leading with kindness, thoughtfulness and a genuine desire to help others,” said National Honor Society adviser Mr. Nadeem. “Her intellectual curiosity, dedication to her studies and commitment to serving others truly set her apart. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and integrity she brings to everything she does.”
This fall, Lorraine will attend Emory University, where she plans to study neuroscience and behavioral biology on a pre-med track.
The district is incredibly proud to celebrate Lorriane on this achievement and wishes her continued success as she prepares to begin an exciting next chapter.
