Malverne High School FIRST Robotics Team Receives $2,000 Grant

Malverne High School’s FIRST Robotics Team, Team 884, The Mechanical Mules, has been awarded a $2,000 grant from the Argosy Foundation to support its 2025-2026 build season.
The Argosy Foundation is a private philanthropic organization that provides STEM-focused resources educational and community-based programs to encourage innovation, collaboration and hands-on learning experiences.
The Mechanical Mules will put this funding to use as they prepare to compete in the 2026 FIRST AGE Competition, taking place at the Long Island Regional at Hofstra University this March.
“This generous funding will help subsidize materials and components needed for the team’s upcoming design and construction efforts,” said Dr. Langone, District Supervisor of STEM. “We are incredibly proud of our students and advisor for their dedication, innovation and teamwork, which continue to exemplify Malverne’s commitment to STEM excellence.”
With a long-standing tradition of creativity, collaboration and technical problem-solving, the Mechanical Mules continue to push the boundaries of student-driven engineering. This grant will provide the resources needed to deepen their build season experience and strengthen their performance at the regional competition.
