Malverne High School

In accordance with New York State Education Law §2803, all public schools are required to implement distraction-free policies that prohibit the use of internet-enabled devices by students during the school day on school grounds.

We understand the importance of cell phones in modern life for communication and access to information. However, research shows that excessive cell phone use in schools leads to distractions, shorter attention spans, online bullying, and reduced academic performance. To support student learning, Malverne High School has developed this cell phone policy with input from parents, faculty, staff, and students.
